Patricia R Marrone DMD, MS is an experienced Dental Specialist who prior to graduating her intense 3-year Post-Doctoral Graduate Program in Periodontics from the Columbia University School of Dental Medicine; was a private practitioner for 10 years in a comprehensive professional Dental practice in Westchester County, New York. Born in the Bronx, she attended Our Lady of Good Counsel in White Plains and further went on to college at Fordham University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. She then attended the Fairleigh S. Dickinson University School of Dentistry where in 1986 she received her Doctorate of Dental Medicine. She furthered her training by accepting a General Practice Residency Program in Dentistry at Englewood Hospital where she was responsible for performing Hospital Dentistry on handicapped individuals, in-patients, patients with infectious diseases and compromised medical histories, as well as patients of all ages from the surrounding communities of Northern Bergen County. Upon completion, she entered private practice where she practiced full scope Dentistry, but after 10 years of successfully treating her patients for their comprehensive oral needs, she decided to pursue her interests in Periodontics at which time she was selected for a position at the Columbia University School of Dental Medicine Post-Doctoral Periodontics Program.
Upon completion of her training, Dr. Marrone was honored with the Dr. Melvin Morris Award for Academic Excellence. An award which is selected for the best Post-Doctoral graduate within the Periodontics Program. During her 3 years of training, she also worked at the Bronx Veterans Administration Medical Center treating our proud and brave veterans for all of their periodontal concerns.
Dr. Marrone provides a broad range of Periodontal surgical services ranging from preventing gum disease to cosmetic periodontal surgery, crown lengthening, connective tissue and bone grafting procedures to osseous surgery and guided tissue bone regeneration. As a Periodontist, she also is Dentistry’s first line defense in diagnosing and treating conditions relative to the practice of Oral Medicine which includes periodontal health and disease related to smoking, diabetes, puberty, pregnancy, menopause, oral contraceptives, and other drug related and systemic conditions.
Dr. Marrone is an active member of numerous Dental and Periodontal organizations. She was also a previous instructor in both the undergraduate and graduate periodontal programs at Columbia University School of Dental Medicine. The New Jersey State Board of Dentistry has granted her specialty license number #5018, limiting her practice to the specialty of Periodontics.
Dr. Marrone has also been acknowledged for her academic prowess and for her community service by receiving numerous awards and accolades. She is fluent in English, Italian and Spanish. Dr. Marrone is married and has two children. To keep abreast of the latest developments in field of Periodontics, she continues to pursue and update her educational portfolio.
